Overview
Verifying the genuine presence of a person during identity verification and authentication is critical in preventing fraud, as well as for identity proofing/KYC ('know your customer') when combined with government ID verification.
2D Liveness Detection
The 2D Liveness Detection employs advanced computer vision and micro-expression analysis to detect subtle facial movements and reflections, effectively distinguishing real individuals from spoof attempts without requiring explicit user actions (Passive Liveness). With an accuracy rate exceeding 98%, it prevents Level 1 to 3 spoof types(refer to the FAQ). The product is compatible with devices such as smartphones, tablets, webcams, and security cameras, even with resolutions as low as 0.3 megapixels.
3D Liveness Detection
Our 3D Liveness Detection utilizes advanced mapping techniques to perform real-time 3D scans of users' facial features, generating accurate encrypted face vectors for instant authentication. It offers robust protection against spoofing attempts, including 2D images, masks, and realistic 3D avatars (Level 1 to 5). With deep learning-based capabilities, it enhances biometric security for applications such as secure access, fraud prevention, and identity proofing. Our 2D and 3D Liveness Detection products, can be seamlessly integrated into the Platform Workflow as a subcomponent of Selfie Verifications together with Face Comparison functionalities. Additionally, these products can also be used as standalone components in the API Marketplace.

Use Cases
- 2D Liveness (API Marketplace): This API is designed to detect and prevent spoofing attempts on unaltered 1st Generation images. API Service that processes facial images that meet the following requirement
- Facial images are frontal, upright, and neutral expressions images with no excessive brightness or shadows.
- Conforms to ISO 19794-5 face pose and lighting guidelines
- Additional Information: 2D Liveness identifies and rejects edited or filtered images, ensuring that only genuine images are processed.
- Capture + 2D/3D Liveness Detection (Workflow): Used in conjunction with the Selfie Capture Interface node within workflow canvas. The workflow will perform image quality checks before proceeding to 2D/3D Liveness Detection, ensuring that only high-quality images are processed.
- Selfie Verification (Workflow): This feature, as a component, includes Selfie Interface, 2D/3D Liveness Detection and Face Comparison. After processing Liveness Detection compares the face in the input image with the face in the reference image to ensure they match, preventing spoofing attempts. This feature provides an additional layer of security to prevent fraudulent activities.
